Pictures and descriptions of analogue television transmitting equipment at Crystal Palace

Return to Specific Transmitter Sites

Pictures and descriptions contributed by Clive McCarthy

These pictures show two generations of analogue television transmitting equipment at Crystal Palace.
Analogue television transmission is no longer used for broadcasting in the United Kingdom and all of this equipment has been removed from the site.
When it was in operation it provided BBC television to a population of about 10 million people in South East England.

Please note: The descriptions were written in March 2004.
